Ted Kotsakis has been named dean of business and technology at Clark College. Kotsakis is a veteran educator whose studies and career have focused on excellence in community college administration. Ginny Guido is the new regional director and assistant dean of nursing at Washington State University Vancouver. Guido holds a bachelor of science in nursing, a master of science in nursing and a juris doctor degree in law.

Nicolette Merino is the new executive director and Michele Williamson has been hired as community relations director at Quarry Senior Living, a senior lifestyle community opening in January at Columbia Tech Center in east Vancouver.
Kim Bennett, president and chief executive officer of the Southwest Washington Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been appointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire to a two-year term on the new Washington Tourism Commission, formed to promote Washington as a visitor destination.
David Bristol has joined First Independent Bank as executive vice president and chief legal officer. As an attorney, Bristol’s prior practice focused on banking, mergers and acquisitions, finance and real estate law. John M. Williams has been named Battle Ground deputy city manager. Williams will assist the city manager with day-to-day operations and oversee the city’s human resources department and municipal court.
Maul, Foster & Alongi Inc. of Vancouver has acquired Mitchell Nelson Group, a Portland architectural firm that provides strategic planning and design services to private and public sector clients and nonprofit institutions and Native American tribes. Keith Upkes Consulting in Camas, providing outsourced accounting and financial management oversight for businesses, has changed its name to The Upkes Group Inc. Owner is Keith Upkes. There is also a new Web site, www.upkesgroup.com. The change reflects the firm’s growth and expansion of services.
Dr. Alden Roberts M.D. has been named vice president of quality and medical affairs for Southwest Washington Medical Center. In the newly created position, Roberts will lead ongoing quality and safety initiatives at the medical center and other Southwest clinical programs and services.
Mark Kent has joined Insitu Inc. as its chief financial officer, responsible for directing all aspects of financial management. The Bingen-based company develops long-range autonomous unmanned aircraft systems and advanced tools for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
Vancouver resident Michael Davis, a tractor trailer driver for UPS, was recently recognized by the company for completing 25 years without an accident. Dan Webb is the new chief financial officer for Pacific Lifestyle Homes. Webb holds business and accounting degrees and is a certified public accountant.

Walt Ronish has been appointed chief executive officer and president of the Clark County Chamber of Commerce. Ronish has been a Vancouver resident for nine years and brings over 23 years of successful business management experience. His position is full-time.

 

Workshed Media, a Camas, company, has acquired GT Multimedia LLC, also in Camas. The new operation is being called Workshed Creative Agency, a brand-focused advertising and marketing business offering media production, music and corporate videos, commercials, directing and editing.
