Charlie Guthrie has been named vice president and chief technology officer for Insitu Inc., a Bingen-based developer of long-endurance, unmanned autonomous aircraft. Guthrie will provide leadership and coordination for the company’s technical operations and advanced development activities. Steve Kenny has been promoted to chief
operating officer for Columbia Credit Union. Kenny will assist the chief executive officer in managing daily operations plus continue his responsibilities in loss prevention, audit/compliance and general services.
Richard Michalek has been promoted to senior vice president and business and professional banking manager for Riverview Community Bank. Judy Silke has joined First Independent Bank as vice president and relationship manager on the bank’s private bank team.
Tim Probst has been named to the public affairs committee for the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Probst is chief executive officer of the Washington Workforce Association. Stacey Graham, who heads marketing efforts for First Independent Bank, has been promoted to senior vice president.
Tony Johnson, president of T.J. and Associates, has been elected the 2007-2008 president of the 220-member Vancouver Rotary Club. Other officers are Jerry Petrick, vicepresident/ president-elect; Victor DeAntonis, secretary; Les Mischke, treasurer and Kate Benson, sergeant-atarms. Directors are Steve Rosvold, Jerry Rolling, George Middleton, Timothy Buckley and Rick Takach. Warner Pacific College will open an adult degree program at King’s Way School, First Church of God, 3300 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver. The campus will offer baccalaureate degrees in business administration and human development. Associate and masters degrees will be offered at a later date. Classes start Sept. 24. Rich Biggs, a principal of Biggs Insurance Services in Vancouver, has been elected president of the Professional Insurance Agents of Washington/Alaska.

Bruce Cook, an agent for Country Insurance & Financial Services, is now registered to offer customers expanded financial planning and investment management services. To obtain the Investment Adviser Representative registration, Cook met state licensing requirements and completed a certification program combining classroom sessions and personal study.
The Management Group has promoted Kane Thomas to director of association management services, where he will oversee departmental operations and training and Lynda DuLong to director of builder services, where she will will work exclusively with builder and developer clients.
